Past Fundraisers

The Glengarry Pipe Band is incredibly grateful for the continued support of our community. Over the years, we have hosted numerous fun and successful events to help support our pipe band. Here is a look back at some of our favourite past fundraisers!

🥌 Annual Glengarry Pipe Band Bonspiel

Our Curling Bonspiel is a staple of our winter/spring fundraising efforts. Hosted annually at the Alexandria Curling Club, curlers of all skill levels are welcome to join in for a day of friendly competition, sweeping, and sliding. The event features performances by the band, 50/50 draws, a soup and sandwich lunch, and a wonderful curry dinner to finish off the day.

🧠 Trivia Nights

A test of wits and a night of laughs! Our Trivia Nights gather teams to battle it out over categories ranging from Scottish history to pop culture and music. With prizes for the winning team, lightning rounds, and a silent auction, these nights are always packed with community spirit.

🎵 GPB PiperGrams

During COVID-19, the band adapted to bring the music to the people with our GPB PiperGrams. Many community members were missing the sights and sounds of the Glengarry Highland Games that year, so we decided to bring the music to them! On PiperGram Day, you could book a piper, drummer and Highland dancer to deliver a message to a friend or family member in their front yard. The group would then perform a few tunes and a Highland dance before heading off to the next location. For family members outside of Glengarry who could not come home, we offered virtual PiperGrams. During the two years we delivered PiperGrams, we were able to perform over 75 PiperGrams for community members across Glengarry and surrounding areas.
